Activity Description:
This webinar session will introduce the practicing pharmacist and pharmacy technician to new drug entities approved for dogs and cats in the United States. Familiarity with new and emerging therapies is essential for the practicing veterinary pharmacist and pharmacy technician in order to assist veterinarians and pet owners during crucial drug therapy discussions.

1. Identify five new drug entities approved for dogs and cats in the United States.
2. Describe the place in therapy of these new drug therapies relative to alternatives.
3. Explain the mechanism of action of the new drug therapies described.

This is a knowledge-based CE activity and is targeted to pharmacists and technicians.

Dr. Margo Karriker, RPh, PharmD, FSVHP, DICVP
Dr. Karriker is unique as a pharmacist in serving only veterinary patients. She completed a doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) degree at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2003 and completed a two year residency in Clinical Veterinary pharmacy at the University of California, Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in 2005.
